DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): Assisi Higher Secondary School, Dimapur held its inaugural Annual Sports Week on March 20 at Assisi Ground, with the Kevithuto Sophie, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur as chief guest and Rev Sr Benny Fernandes, Provincial Superior of UFC of North East Province as guest of honour.
The chief guest in his speech motivated the students and encouraged them to inculcate values, discipline, respecting elders and dignity of labour within them. He emphasized on how students should keep themselves away from toxic habits, mobile addiction and substance abuse. He finally affirmed on being good men and women to build up a better society.
The guest of Honour appreciated the staff and its management for organizing time to time extracurricular activities which makes students to think individually with true spirit of all round development.
Earlier, Principal Rev Sr Mary Lakra highlighted on the importance of sports and games and exhorted the students on true spirit of sportsmanship. The students and participants showcased their talents, dedications and unparallel sportsmanship through activities like march-past, drill display, dance performance, and track and field events. The day also witnessed exciting games and events like boat-race, three-legged race, sack race, tug-of-war etc.
