
Kohima, September 29 (MExN): The Nagaland University Kohima Campus (NUKC) witnessed the grand finale of Associate Dean’s Cup 2025 (ADSW Cup 2025) on September 26, at the University playground, NUKC.
The closing ceremony began with the University anthem, and the gathering was graced with a speech by Prof. N. Venuh, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (PVC) of NUKC. In his speech, Prof. Venuh lauded the organising committee for bringing together the NUKC community through sports in true unity. He emphasised the event’s achievement of breaking barriers, noting that the active participation witnessed togetherness and a striving for overall good and wellbeing. Prof. Venuh concluded his speech with the anticipation that this initiative would progress further in the coming editions for the betterment of the University.
Phuyeka P. Yeptho, Sports Secretary, introduced the finalist teams, and the grand finale match began with a kick-off by the PVC of NUKC.
The program was chaired by Lhinghoivah Vahsi Handshing, invocation by Mhonthung Kikon and a special number was performed by Eshak Konyak.
Team Education and Teacher Education emerged as the winners, and runners-up were bagged by team Management and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Department of History & Archaeology and Psychology was awarded the best discipline team; Chingkam, Dept. of Education won the Best player award; Abinath Konthoujam, Dept. of Management won the best keeper award; Matemshiba I. Jamir, Dept. of History & Archaeology was honoured as the highest scorer; Tokwang, Dept. of Education won the best defender award.
Mhasilhoukhonuo presented a song, Vitsürieno Meyase led the expression of gratitude, and Shalo Kent delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony ended with a benediction by T. Lingcholi Sangtam.
Earlier, an exhibition match was played between the Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU) and Nagaland University Research Scholars’ Forum, Kohima (NURSF-K), where the match was won by the NURSF-K.
