
Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Government College (DGC) bade farewell to the HoD of Commerce department, RV Lotha at the college premises on March 4. The programme was attended by the family of RV Lotha, Principal, Vice Principal, faculty, staff and students of the college.
Akok walling, Principal, spoke on behalf of the college and highlighted RV Lotha’s contribution to the college. He said his simplicity and straight forward nature endeared himself to his colleagues and the students. The Dimapur Govt. College Teachers Association, the Commerce department, staff and the students' representative spoke highly of the contribution made by RV Lotha to the college and thanked him for leaving an indelible imprint in the college, said a press release issued by Media and Publicity Cell, DGC.
Associate Professor RV Lotha in his speech captivated the audience with his typical wit and humor, the release added. With the culmination of his career in teaching, he declared that he was embarking on his missionary journey. Keeping this in mind, he had obtained Master of Divinity (M Div) from Faith Theological College, Dimapur, when he was still serving in DGC.
“He was one teacher, who is committed to the service of the Lord and focus on church planting after his retirement. Despite offers in managerial position in various government managed corporations, he chose teaching profession, as he was convinced that teaching is a noble and clean profession. He will explore the foreign soil to preach the gospel and plant churches in the remote areas, for which he solicited prayer support from the believers,” the DGC Media and Publicity Cell stated.
T. Zhanthungo Ngullie, Asst. Professor, enthralled the audience with a special song during the farewell programme, which was chaired by Kezhalie Hesso, HoD of Economics department.
Meanwhile, the DGC authority and Dimapur Govt. College Teachers’ Association (DGCTA) organized a sumptuous lunch in honour of the retired Associate Professor RV Lotha and his family.
