The 27th Biennial General Conference of the Angami Students' Union (ASU) got underway here today at Centenary Compound under the theme ‘Realistic Response.’
Speaking at the introductory session this evening, Er. Vipulhou Lhoungu, Principal, Government Polytechnic Kohima termed the conference theme ‘Realistic Response’ as the need of the hour and turning point for Angamis. He spoke on the topic ‘Building Leadership - Realistic Response,’ where he said students are very important and precious for our community.
“Through each one of you, others will come to know our community. The world will come to know our community through you,” he said.
“You are our pride. You are our real treasure,” he told the students and asked them to pursue their academic career with purpose and excel in their respective fields.
Earlier, ASU speaker Nongosa Sale chaired the function while LOC convenor Khrielelie Peseyie shared greetings.
Welcome address was delivered by WASU president while ASU general secretary Visako Rino highlighted the activities of ASU during 2015-17.
Seyielebei Senotsu, catechist, Catholic Church Jotsoma prayed for the session while Calvary Baptist Church, Jotsoma presented special number.
The inaugural session will take place on April 8 at 10:00 am.
Er. Kevisekho Kruse, Chief Engineer PHED, Government of Nagaland will speak on the conference theme ‘Realistic Response.’
The function will be chaired by organizing committee convenor Kelhouneizo Yhome.
ASU president Dievi Yano will deliver presidential address. Greetings will be shared by Angami Public Organization while Naga Students’ Federation president will extend solidarity message.
