ASU St. Joseph College emerges overall champ of ASU Nousi Rüzhü

Kohima, March 3 (MExN): The 4th edition of ASU (Angami Students’ Union) Nousi Rüzhü was held from March 1 to 2 last at D. Khel Ground Seikhazou, Kohima.


Six college unit of ASU, which include ASU Kohima College Kohima (KCK), ASU St. Joseph College Jakhama (SJCJ), ASU Kohima Science College Jotsoma (KSCJ), ASU Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK), ASU Baptist College Kohima (BCK) and ASU Oriental College Kohima (OCK) joined this two day long sports meet.


The opening ceremony chaired by ASU KCK president Rokobeituo Tsira was graced by Atuo Mezhür Sekhose, president Nagaland Football Association and State Chief Commissioner, Nagaland State Bharat Scout and Guide.


In his speech, Sekhose emphasized how sports could benefit students and that it's highly appreciated to conduct such initiatives and also that the ASU should continue such activities in the future as well.


ASU general secretary Vizokho Zashiimo also extorted the participants followed by a special song by Neila-ü Thaprü (ASU KCK). 


Welcome speech was delivered by ASU president Visako Rino. 


ASU Kohima College games and sports secretary Megozhavi Krose administered oath to the participating teams. 


Six teams vied for coveted champion title in football, volleyball and basket ball on day 1.


In Naga wrestling event, Kevime Vitsu emerged the champion title. Kevinguzo Nipu, Keluonguzo Keretsii and Nounelhoutuo Meyase bagged second, third and fourth position respectively.


ASU St. Joseph College Jakhama emerged the overall champion title of 4th ASU Nousi Rüzhü.


The valedictory function was graced by Vipulhou Lhoungu, OSD, Directorate of Technical Education as the special guest.
