ASU supports NSF stand on JEE issue

DIMAPUR, AUGust 8 (MExN): The Angami Students Union (ASU), the apex students’ body of the Angamis covering the present district of Kohima and Dimapur, expressed dismay over the recent JEE manipulations and condemned the act of nepotism executed by the Minister Imkong L Imchen towards his son.

Pointing out that the act was “evidently a consciously motivated one meant to assassinate merit”, the ASU in a press communiqué stated that if people in high stature stoop to such low, manipulative and corrupt acts, “what can we expect of our society?”

The ASU pointed that the very act of the Minister had cast ‘bad faith’ to the people’s effort of fighting against corruption. Welcoming the NSF and All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) stance that the tenure of the Minister be reviewed on moral ground, the ASU expressed solidarity and support for the stand taken by the two bodies.

The ASU also stated that it was time for civil society to come out openly against corruptions and execute exemplary actions that could deter people to indulge in corruptive measures.
