The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) will be conducting the first phase of the non-local verification drive 2019 from June 20 till July 20 at ASU office HQ, below AIR station, Kohima.
To tackle the demographic threats, ASU said it will be coordinating the verification drive, and has urged the denizens of Kohima district to partake and support in the exercise. It also called all concerned to exercise restraint, while citing stray incidents wherein ILP holders were harassed in the past by unofficial personnel.

The objective of the exercise is thwarting the invasion of illegal immigration towards the state and not discriminating any Indian citizen possessing valid ILP whatsoever through its activities, ASU stated in a press release today.
ASU also welcomed collaborated assistance from the state government in this initiative, while also inviting the administrative authority to actively converge with any progress in detecting and controlling the perils posed by the influx.
Necessary documents required for the verification drive will include copy of Inner Line Permit (ILP), any of the following valid documents (Addhar Card/Voter ID/NRC Certificates/Pan Card/Driving License, valid trade license, two (2) recent Passport size photos.
