ASUD backs ANCSU, for ‘permanent settlement’ of issues

Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): On the ongoing agitation called by the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), the Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD) said that the Union “expects a permanent settlement on all pending issues which have been brought to light by the apex college student’s body.”

ASUD President, Lanutoshi Aier and General Secretary, Moayanger Jamir in a press release stated that higher education is of paramount importance and when problems such as land encroachment and scholarship delays exist, the educational needs of the student community are compromised to a great extent.

The Union expressed hope that the state government will not only provide verbal assurance but also bring into existence an effective mechanism in the higher education system so that the current problems do not surface in future.

“The ASUD stands in full support of the student community and genuine concerns voiced by the ANCSU,” the Union affirmed.
