ASUS celebrates 56th Freshers' Day

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The Angami Students' Union Shillong (ASUS) celebrated its 56th Freshers' Day Meet at Naga Community Hall, Nongrim Hill, Shillong on September 14.

Mhasimhalie Matthew Yhome, president of Kohima District Football Association and vice president Kohima Village Youth Organization graced the occasion as the chief guest.

In his address, Yhome regaled the audience with his inspiring life story, sharing tales of fun and challenging experiences that shaped him into the dynamic leader he is today.

With his infectious enthusiasm and charismatic presence, he motivated the students to strive for excellence and bring laurels to the Naga society.
Yhome emphasized the importance of leading a disciplined life, cautioning against the pitfalls of alcoholism and tobacco.

He also encouraged the students to be ideal ambassadors of the Angami community and Nagas, emphasizing the significance of maintaining good relationships with the local people.

Medozhazo Tachü and Vimenuo Sachii crowned as ASUS Mr. & Miss Freshers 2024 title respectively.

This year, ASUS introduced an exciting new change for the Freshers' Meet by holding an online voting process to select Mr. and Miss Popular wherein Thejavisie Suohumvu and Vimenuo Sachii conferred with Mr and Miss Popular title respectively.

Earlier, ASUS president Ruokuohuzo Khezhie delivered welcome address. Mhaleneinuo Solo and Thinosalie Keyho compered the programme while Kethokhrieno Solo proposed vote of thanks.
