ATAN resents double “show-cause notice”

Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) is displeased that the ‘Education department’ issued show-cause notices to a number of teachers who had cleared Suitability Test in the month of December, 2010. After responding to the show-cause notice, they were again “selectively served another show cause citing the same reasons/grounds,” the ATAN stated in a note today.  The ATAN urges ‘concerned officials dealing with this case’ to immediately “treat the recent issue of show cause notice as cancelled on those who have already responded the show case served last year as this has created unnecessary harassment and resentment to the aggrieved teachers.” The association also questioned the “credibility of the officials dealing with the show cause notice prompting whether it is a case of deliberate error or is an indication of incompetency and inefficiency.”
The ATAN has convened a general meeting on October 6 at 3:00 PM at the Dimapur Government Higher Secondary School ground. “Members who have received second show cause notice pertaining to the same reasons/grounds are informed to report to the executives before the meeting starts. Defaulters of ATAN membership renewal amount are directed to submit on the same day without fail,” the ATAN’s note added.
