Mon, February 1 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Aboi and Mon blocks in Mon district conducted various trainings and demonstrations in the last few days.
ATMA Aboi block conducted trainings and demonstrations on January 30, 31 and February 1. Trainings were given on management practices of potato, ridge gourd and solanaceous crops, while demonstrations were done on piggery management, preparation of dishwash, cultivation of bitter gourd and maize, informed a press release.
Block Technology Manager (BTM) Mhachamo Ngullie, Assistant Technology Manager (ATM) Maongkar T. Changkiri and ATM Marina Mollier were the resource persons. Kaiyan Konyak (Farmers Friend of Ngangching and Mohong) was the guide.
Altogether, 40 members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and farmers attended the programme. Seeds and dishwash kits were also distributed.
Meanwhile, trainings and demonstrations were conducted by ATMA Mon block on January 31 and February 1 at Longkei and Leangnyu villages respectively. The resource persons were BTM Roseline Pusa, BTM Vimeno Zao, ATM Phyobeni Mozhui, ATM P. Shampa, and ATM Khriezelhou Seyie.
On January 31, the participants were trained on soil erosion and conservation methods, management practices of solanaceous crops stressing on the common pests and diseases management. Demonstrations were also done on cultivation of French beans and preparation of detergent. A total of 22 trainees attended the programme. Seeds of brinjal, chilli, French beans and detergent kits were given away at the end of the programme.
On February 1, training was given on soil, plant, water and atmosphere relationship and management practices of bitter gourd whereas demonstrations were done on cultivation practices of okra and preparation of dishwash. Altogether, 20 participants from different SHGs attended the programme, where seeds of bitter gourd, okra and dishwash kits were distributed to the SHGs.
