Zunheboto, July 14 (MExN): ATMA Akuluto block conducted training and demonstrations on value addition on locally available fruits and vegetables and management of backyard farming on first week of July at Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer’s (SDAO) office, Akuluto town. Hands on demonstration on preparation of chilli pickle and jam making were demonstrated by Aolemla, BTM, Akuluto block. Preservatives and other materials were distributed to the participants. Meanwhile, Chubatsur, BTM, Zunheboto block spoke on the economic importance of backyard poultry, piggery and kitchen garden and urged the farmers to practice scientific method of farming. Altogether, 25 farmers from Lumthsami and Akuluto benefited from the programme.
