Mon, May 2 (MExN): ATMA Mon, Phomching block conducted a three-day training and demonstration programme at Longwa on April 29, May 1 and May 2. Nunghothung Odyuo BTM was the chairperson.
On April 29, the resource person Subenthung Odyuo, Dy. PD ATMA Mon, gave a demonstration on “application of foliar spray” in vegetables. The preparation and the method of spraying the micronutrient were shown to the farmers. The role of micronutrients in plants growth and yield of the crops, the benefits and spraying time in different crops were also explained.
On May 1, demonstration on “Zinc high application in vegetables” was done. The preparation and direction of usage as well as the benefits of zinc high was emphasized.
On May 2, Chingin Konyak, AI, trained the farmers on “Maize cultivation practices and management” and “coffee nursery bed preparation”. He dwelled on the land preparation for sowing maize up to harvesting, common pests and diseases and their management, importance and benefits of intercropping. He also shared on preparation and management of nursery bed for coffee.
Altogether, 20 farmers attended and micronutrients were distributed to the participating farmers.
