LONGLENG, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The ATMA Longleng, Tamlu block organized a farmers training at Tamlu village community hall on September 2 on the topic, ‘Management and uses of some Rabi crops.’
The resource person Lalen S Phom spoke on the importance of management of nursery beds, time of transplanting and post harvest management. She also encouraged the farmers to give more importance in cultivating organic vegetables for consumption as well as for commercial purpose.
Tamlu Village Council Chairman, Longli meanwhile appreciated ATMA Longleng, Tamlu Block for organizing such programmes for the farmers. He also encouraged the farmers to put into practice the farming and crop management methods they learned in the training.
On the same day, a demonstration programme on ‘Managementt of Live Stock’ was conducted at Ametchong Village, with the resource person from Veterinary Department, Choikham, VFA, Tamlu. He demonstrated to the farmers on site selection and standard size construction of pigsties. He also emphasized on the importance of balanced feeding in order to achieve nutritional balance of the pigs.
