Mon, July 30 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mon conducted various activities in three blocks recently.
Mon Block: Block Farmer’s Advisory Committee (BFAC) meeting was held by ATMA Mon Block on July 25 at Mon Town. A total of 16 members from various villages under the block attended the meeting. Vimeno Zao, Block Technology Manager (BTM) highlighted the activities conducted in the block and Nemchaba Jamir, Assistant Technology Manager (ATM) gave a brief note on BFAC. The problems faced by the farmers and suggestions for improvement was shared by the members. Various training and demonstration needs as well as other activities were also discussed, informed a press release.
Training on ‘SHG Book-keeping’ and demonstration on ‘preparation of detergent’ and ‘preparation of dishwash’ were conducted at Totok Chingha on July 28. Nemchaba Jamir, BTM shared on the importance of maintaining proper records and registers to the SHGs. Vimeno Zao, BTM gave a hands-on demonstration on preparation of detergent.
Later, Roseline Pusa, BTM demonstrated on dishwash making. Altogether 19 trainees from different SHGs attended the programme, where detergent kits along with packing materials and dishwash kits were also distributed.
On July 29, demonstration on ‘preparation of detergent and dishwash’ was also conducted at Totok Chingnyu, which was attended by 16 trainees. The resource person was Vimeno Zao, BTM.
Phomching Block: ATMA Phomching Block conducted BFAC meeting on July 24 at Yuching village with attendance of eight members. Nunghothung Odyuo, BTM, who chaired the meeting, gave a brief highlight on BFAC. The need for various trainings and demonstrations to be taken up at different villages under the block was discussed.
A one-day training and demonstration programme was also conducted at Yuching village on July 28. The programme was chaired by T. Mhonchumo, BTM and the resource persons were Nunghothung Odyuo, BTM, Kanato, ATM and Yokjun Konyak. Nunghothung Odyuo gave a hands-on demonstration on preparation of dishwash, while Kanato demonstrated on the management practices of soyabean including land preparation, row spacing etc. Yokjun Konyak demonstrated on preparation of coffee nursery bed. Altogether, 25 trainees attended the programme and were given soyabean seeds and dishwash kits.
Aboi Block: ATMA Aboi Block conducted BFAC meeting on July 28 at Langmeang village. Mhachamo Ngullie, BTM gave a brief note on BFAC and ATMA activities. Feedback and suggestions were shared by the members wherein the importance of coordination between the functionaries and farmers were emphasized. Altogether, 7 farmers friend and 9 progressive farmers attended the meeting.
On July 29, a demonstration on preparation of dishwash was conducted at Langmeang village. The resource person Mhachamo Ngullie, BTM gave a hands-on demonstration on how to prepare dishwash. He urged the trainees to utilise the available resources and venture into activities which can be useful for both home use as well as for income generation. 15 people attended the programme, which concluded with distribution of dishwash kits.
