Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur conducted capacity building cum training on ‘Bee keeping for Beginners’ and ‘Hi-tech Horticulture in Northeast Region.’
ATMA Dimapur, Kuhuboto Block conducted acapacity building cum training on “Bee keeping for Beginners” and “Hi-tech Horticulture in Northeast Region”held on 13th may, 2016 with Jesse Murray, ATM (ATMA), Dhansiripar Block and Ameto Yeptho, ATM (ATMA) Kuhuboto Block as the Resource persons.
Ameto, firstly gave a brief outline on the development prospect of horticulture in Northeast region. He further illustrated on the technology that Is being implemented in the horticulture sector. He also elaborated on the advance method that is being taken up by the farmers of northeast region which is of great success. He encouraged the farmers to give an utmost care to the plants while handling and planting.
Jesse spoke on the bee keeping for beginnners. He firstly highlighted on the advantages of bee keeping which does not need much labour. He also explain on the various method of bee keeping. He also elaborated on the techniques of handling a bee and also explain not to wear any dark clothes while handling the bees as dark object irritates them. He encouraged the farmers to try for bee keeping asBeekeeping can be a hobby, a sideline operation or a full-time vocation. Beekeeping is a relatively inexpensive hobby that provides a sweet bonus each year.Earlier the programme was chaired by Mr.Yimobendang, ATM (ATMA) Kuhuboto Block.
