Resource persons Alemla and Asenla from Renlok SHG of Naga United Village during the district level training for Self Help Groups (SHGs) at Dimapur on April 20.
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur in collaboration with Akivi MPCS Ltd. conducted a district level training for Self Help Groups (SHGs) at Sugarcane office, Dimapur on April 20. The training programme was organised to equip the SHG members with the knowledge to prepare Aloe Vera soap and detergent powder that can help them to earn additional income for the group.
Dimapur DAO & PD (ATMA) stated in a press release that the resource persons were Alemla and Asenla from Renlok SHG of Naga United Village and a very progressive SHG of Dimapur with vast experience in Aloe Vera soap, detergent powder, lotion, and shampoo and vermicompost preparation. Alemla meticulously explained and practically demonstrated on the preparation of Aloe Vera soap. Asenla explained and demonstrated on the preparation of detergent powder.
Khezheli Achumi, Chairperson, Akivi MPCS Ltd gave vote of thanks. She thanked all the participants especially the resource persons and ATMA for coming up and helping to organise such a training programme got the SHGs of Dimapur.
Janet Chishi, Deputy Project Director chaired the training programme, invocation by Hokhuli Sema, Member, MPCS Ltd, welcome address was delivered by Toivi Swu, AO & BTT Convenor, Kuhuboto Block. He welcomed the participants and encouraged them to learn earnestly and to put into practice what they learn during the training.
Keynote address was delivered by J. Akato Chishi, Dy. Project Director, ATMA. He explained on the activities of ATMA at various levels and its capacity to support the farming community. He also briefly iterated them to learn the methods of soap and detergent preparation locally and to go back and teach other SHGs in their villages and in their blocks. Other ATMA officials present at the training programme were Sentinaro Longchar, BTM-Dhansiripar Block and Angela, BTM-Medziphema Block.
Altogether 60 members from various SHGs participated at the training programme and Aloe vera soap were distributed free of cost to all the participants at the end of the programme.
