Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Kuhuboto Block conducted a training and demonstration on ‘Preparation of king chilli pickle’ and ‘Oyster Mushroom cultivation’ on May 11 with Chumyani, AFA & BTT Member, Kuhuboto Block as the Resource person.
A brief introduction on the king chilli was illustrated by Chumyani, which is also one of the traditional crop of Nagaland. She further elaborated on the usefulness in medicinal value as it is used as a cure for stomach ailments. She motivated the SHG women farmer to take up such activity which can help them in their livelihood.
She further explained the process of steps in the making of mushroom. She also illustrated that the spawned bags should be kept in a room away from direct sunlight for incubation and further elaborated on the time, temperature and days to be kept before harvesting.
She also encouraged the participants to take up mushroom cultivation as it is cultivable throughout the year and can help them to boost up their SHG economy. It also plays a great role in medicinal value such as in heart diseases, diabetic, kidney problem etc and she concluded by showing them the steps to make the king chilli pickle and mushroom cultivation through a live demonstration.
