
Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur organized farmer exposure tour for farmers to Siliguri from May 26 to 30. The team was led by Janet Chishi, Tonikali (ATMA) and James Kikon, KVK (Jharnapani).
The team visited the North Bengal Floritech at Siliguri, an enterprises operating as trader, supplier and manufacturer of hi-tech green houses, transgenic greenhouses, multi wall polycarbonate sheet greenhouses and NETAFIM irrigation. The North Bengal Floritech has branch offices operating all over North East.
The proprietor Utpal Banerjee explained that the enterprise is the regional distributor for NETAFIM, Israel and KF Bioplants. The enterprise provides planting materials for turnkey project, essential oils turnkey project and also prepares feasibility project reports, and survey area services.
Project Co-ordinator, North Bengal Floritech Watila Longkumer took the team for field visit at the farm, she highlighted on the different methods, systems of planting and propagation of Anthurium, Orchids, Gerbera. Later the technique of harvesting and post harvesting of cut flowers for market was demonstrated. The team comprised of farmers and SHGs members under Dimapur district.
