Dimapur, November 23 (MExN): ATMA-Dimapur Kuhuboto Block conducted joint visit and Front Line Demonstration (FLD) on November 17. Resource person for the programme was Ch Roben Singh, ACTO, Agronomy KVK, Dimapur.
A press release by Akavi Holo, Block Technology Manager, ATMA Dimapur stated that joint visit of ATMA and KVK Dimapur was organized under Kuhuboto Block. The team visited Banana Farm at Kiyezhe village and vegetable farm at Hukato village, followed by interaction with the farmers. An FLD was conducted at Pukhato village on Field Pea in collaboration with KVK Dimapur.
Roben Singh highlighted the basic importance and concept of FLD. He further elaborated that field pea are high in protein, starch, fiber and micronutrients and could be a good addition to a healthy diet due to their many health-promoting benefits. He also illustrated on the seed rate, spacing, weed management, diseases and pest management. The day concluded with demonstration on the field and interaction.
