Kohima, May 21 (DIPR): As part of ATMA district activities, ATMA Kohima conducted a district level training on Organic Farming for farmers of Tuophema village on May 17. About 45 farmers and two ATMA functionaries attended the programme and were trained on various aspects of organic farming.
Speaking as the main resource person Dr. Ketholezo Sorü, BDS, BAMT, MD, PHds highlighted the scope and potentials of Japanese organic farming system for our rural poor farmers to boost their health and economy, thereby improving their living standards. Dr Sorü also taught the farmers about low cost natural cold storage for rural farmers to improve the shelf life of their perishable commodities.
The day long programme was chaired by Thepfüchalie, Farmer Friend, Tuophema where he encouraged the farmers to put into practice whatever lessons were taught. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Krutsolie.
