ATMA Longleng farmers exposure tour to Guwahati

Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): ATMA Longleng conducted farmers’ interstate training at Horticultural and Plantation Crops Research Station, Kahikuchi, Assam from February 26 to 29.


The training programme was organized with an objective to expose the farmers to the latest technologies developed by the researchers and scientist of the institute.


Altogether 11 farmer friends from Longleng block, Tamlu block, and Sakshi block of Longleng district participated in the training along with officials of ATMA Longleng.


The participants were trained on production technology of various horticultural and plantation crops like pineapple, citrus, coconut, areca nut, betelvine, turmeric and black pepper and its post harvest management. The chief scientist and resource person Dr Sakia also highlighted the importance and benefits of the marketing aspects of various commercial and high value crops for cost effective production.


The participants also toured important historical places of Guwahati city and visited the Brahmaputra river, zoo, and parks in and around the city.
