Phek, July 11 (MExN): ATMA Phek, Meluri block contributed over 800 facemasks and soaps to farmers of Akhegwo and New Akhegwo village on June 22. The items were handed over to Farmer Friend, N Mary Chugho for distribution.
Meanwhile, ATMA functionaries Visapa Movi ATM, Neilhui ATM and Nuzo ATM conducted training and demonstration on various topics such as cultivation practices of cabbage, banana, control of fall army worm in maize crop, pest management of vegetables using locally available materials, preparation of pickle and mushroom cultivation.
During the training, Luozhiesü Martha, a coffee farmer of Khumaisu village was awarded the Best Performing Individual Farmer and Hunthaji SHG of Akhegwo village, the Best Performing Group under Meluri block. Altogether 43 farmers from different SHGs were mobilized for the training and demonstration.
