
Mon, July 2 (MExN): ATMA Mon conducted training and demonstration on June 27 and 29 at Totok Chingha and Chi villages respectively. The resource persons Moikam T. Phom, ATM and Tenhnyei Phom, ATM trained the farmers on seed treatment, disease management and uses of soyabean.
Good Management Practices in organic farming, common pest and disease that cause damage to rice crops and their control measures were also discussed. Frontline demonstration on integrated pest management in mixed crop farming and biological control of pests and diseases, preparation of field which includes plant spacing, row width, etc for planting soyabean were done.
The resource persons urged the farmers to practice biological methods for control of pest and diseases and also to follow proper post harvest management.
Altogether, 58 farmers from Totok Chingha and Chi villages participated in the programmes.
