Peren, September 1 (MExN): ATMA Peren Block conducted a field day, training and demonstration on August 28 and 29 at Ngwalwa Town and Ngwalwa Village. The programme was chaired by Peren block convener, Mapeuheile Ndang (Agriculture Officer).
A press release from ATMA Peren block stated that, Kewichamsi Kaurinta (Assistant Technology Manager), imparted training on pest and disease management in cucurbits with the help of visual aid in which he mainly emphasized on the cultural and biological control of pests and diseases followed by discussion and visit to the field.
Training and demonstration on vermicomposting was also carried out by Isapeule Hegui (Agriculture Inspector). She instructively illustrated the feasibility of vermicomposting and expounded about the importance and its role in crop production and income generation. Later on, the participants were taken to the site and were provided with the hands-on-training.
Two Food Security Groups’ were formed, namely Keku Maa and Bangdwa Keyima. Seed money was handed over to each group. Altogether, 14 farmers attended the training programme.
