ATMA Peren conducts inter-state farmers training

Peren, March 4 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Peren organized Inter State farmers training to Assam from February 22 to 23. Altogether 12 farmers and 4 ATMA officials were part of the tour. A press release from Yezaho Swu, ATMA Peren stated the purpose of the tour was to enhance and upgrade the skill and knowledge of the farmers. The team visited CPCRI (ICAR) at Kahikuchi, where indigenous improved cultivation of Arecanut, coconut and Cocoa are promoted and are grown together.
Singajit, Scientist ICAR highlighted on various farming techniques and proper skills acquainting the farmers with modern techniques for commercial Agriculture, emerging trends in organic farming and cultivation of different agriculture crops on scientific lines. He also stressed that Naga farmers are barefoot scientists and should give importance to local resources.
