Peren, March 1 (MExN): Kisan Mela was organized by ATMA, Peren on February 20 at Jalukie town hall, Jalukie. Deputy Commissioner Peren, S Tainiu graced the event as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, she apprised the farmers on the potentiality of Peren district in agriculture sector and its rich soil fertility. The DC also encouraged the farmers to work hard with sincerity to make the tag ‘Rice bowl of Nagaland’ a reality. In conclusion, she urged upon the farmers to be hard working for economically self-sufficient and self-sustaining resources. The programme was chaired by Hewoto Sema, District Agriculture Officer & PD ATMA Peren.
Keynote address was delivered by Akam Zeliang and vote of thanks was conveyed by Yezaho Deputy Project Director ATMA Peren respectively.
The special guest inaugurated the exhibition stalls of Agricultural Entrepreneurs and Agri & Allied departments where various improved technologies, modern farm machineries, seeds and other agricultural inputs were displayed.
In the technical session, farmers-experts interaction was held. Saplings of important horticultural crops and various folders were also distributed to the farmer participants by KVK Peren.
