Village Council Chairman’s selected from the eight blocks of Tuensang district led by the team leaders during an exposure trip under ‘Outside the State Exposure Tour’ from June 8 to 15.
Dimapur, June 20 (MExN): With the view to acquaint the participants with the agricultural techniques practiced elsewhere through the medium of exposure trips, the ATMA Tuensang conducted an exposure trip under ‘Outside the State Exposure Tour’ from June 8 to 15, 2011.
A press note issued by project director ATMA and DHO Tuensang, Dr. Moa Walling stated that Village Council Chairmans (VCC) selected from the eight blocks of Tuensang district led by the team leaders Dr. Vikshe Sumi, deputy project director, ATMA and S. Puchong, E.O & BTT convener (Sericulture Department), P.Leyang and O. Changlem, FD & BTT Convenors (Fishery Department) participated in the exposure trip. Altogether, four ATMA officials and 16 VCCs from eight blocks toured national and agriculturally important places such as New Delhi, Agra (U.P) and Jaipur (Rajasthan).
The note further mentioned that the team was also invited by C.M Chang, Member of Parliament at his residence and had a fruitful interaction with the team. Team leader briefed the MP about ATMA and purpose of the exposure trip. MP lauded the ATMA for organizing the exposure trip for the VCCs and encouraged the team to participate and wok actively in developmental programmes. The VCCs also thanked the ATMA Tuensang for its concern of organizing and mobilizing them to local as well as external resources for social, educational, technological and developmental interventions.
