ATMA Wazeho block trains farmers

Wazeho, July 13 (MExN): Training and demonstration programmes were conducted by ATMA functionaries Nuzo, ATM, Sinilo Kent, ATM and Vitsonuo Solo, ATM of Wazeho block at Wazeho village on June 5 and also at Yisisotha village, Wazeho on June 25. 

 

The functionaries trained the farmers on banana cultivation, integrated pest management using yellow sticky traps and nursery management of vegetable crops. Demonstration on mushroom cultivation was also conducted at the villages. The ATMA functionaries of Wazeho block also conducted a field day for QUIYI group about bean cultivation at Wazeho village on June 22.

 

Farmer’s Interest Group (FIG) and Food Security Group (FSG) were set up for the famers of Wazeho village and Yisisotha village by the ATMA functionaries. The total number of members in both groups was 35 for Wazeho village and 30 for Yisisotha village.

 

K Vilo of Wazeho village, involved in mixed farming of pineapple, tree bean and banana was presented the Farmers Award for best performing farmer (individual) while QUIYI group involved in farming and pickle making were given the Farmers Award for best performing group under Wazeho block.
