WOKHA, MAY 22 (MExN): ATMA, Wokha launched a programme for distribution of face mask, hand soaps and pamphlets at the office of Project Director, ATMA on May 21.
A press release informed that the objective of the programme is to ensure that the agricultural advisories are maintained by the small and marginal farmers for their own safety and mobility while performing various agricultural operations and to avoid field level contagious spread of the novel corona virus.Under this activity, 500 farmers & farm women will be covered in each block.
Project Director and DHO, Medemshiba addressed the gathering by highlighting about the current scenario of agricultural activities in the district and stressed that agriculture and allied sector plays a vital role vis-à-vis, food security, nutrition, importance of the forest produce (NTFP) and market chain linkage during this unprecedented time.
Later, the Project Director handed over the materials to the block representatives while stressing on the selection criteria for identification of the needy farmers. The items will be further distributed in all the seven blocks in the district through the BTT Convenors, BTMs, ATMs and Farmers Friend.
