Wokha, October 17 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Wokha conducted Within State Farmers Training cum Exposure Tour at Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) and Science & Technology Intervention in North East Region (STINER) - Technology Facilitation Centre NU: SASRD Medziphema from October 9 -11.


A press release from ATMA, Wokha stated that resource persons at the CIH were AK Singh, Horticulture Specialist and Dr Moasosang Assistant Horticulture Specialist. Farmers were trained on production technology of horticultural crops like Guava, Citrus, Anthurium cultivation, etc. Hand demonstration on budding and grafting on citrus were also taught to the farmers.


Andrew, Project Assistant STINER-TFC explained to the farmers about the objectives of the project which is meant only for the benefits of North East farmers.


Various machines and devices like distillation unit, banana fibre extractor, drier, etc were shown and demonstrated to the farmers.


Farmers were also exposed to the ICAR centre of Mithun at Jharnapani. Altogether 11 farmers participated at the programme which was led by DPDs Yanglen Jami and Subenthung Yanthan.
