Zunheboto, May 21 (MExN): ATMA Zunheboto block and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland University organized a daylong training cum demonstration on May 20 at Newland and Kheshepu village Tizu post. Y Vishito Assumi S.O, Soil Dept/BTT Convenor ATMA, chaired the programme and Pinili, women leader pronounced invocation prayer.
According to specific needs of the farmers, resource person Edenly Chishi, SMS (Horticulture) discussed on the storage of seeds, fruits and vegetables after harvest. She explained on the different methods of storage. Sentimenla Jamir, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Science) spoke on the importance of bio-fertilizer, which is the only alternative for improving soil fertility.
In the practical session, Edenly Chishi demonstrated on construction of small unit Zero energy cool chamber and Sentimenla on seed treatment with biofertilizers. Biofertilizers were distributed to the 20 farmers who attended the programme.
The programme concluded with farmers/subject expert’s interaction and vote of thanks was delivered by farmers friend Shitokhu.
