DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 10 (MExN): With the aim to promote people's participation in the Hornbill Festival and also to promote the Festival on social media platforms, the Department of Information & Public Relations organised a Vlog Competition as part of the Hornbill Festival 2023.
The result of the competition was declared at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 10 where Additional Director, IPR, Kevizayieno gave away the prizes to the winners. Atse Quinker emerged as the winner of the Vlog Competition while Chumlano Ngullie and Soshila won the second and third positions respectively. The winners were awarded certificates and cash of Rs. 10,000 to the winner and Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 5,000 to the second position and third position respectively.
Joint Director, IPR, Asangla Imsong, speaking at the programme stated that in this era of short attention span, vlogs can be particularly relevant as they offer a personal and dynamic way for individuals to share experiences and perspectives. With the rise of platforms like youtube and social media, vlogs now serve as a powerful medium for content creators to connect with the audiences globally, providing diverse content on a wide range of topics. With concise storytelling, engaging visuals and entertaining elements, it’s easier for the audience to stay interested, she stated.
The Vlog Competition was organised under the theme, "Feathers of Hornbill Festival", over the 10-day period where participants shared their short videos shot during the Hornbill Festival 2023. In today's day and edge of the internet and social media, the Department of Information & Public Relations hopes that the renowned Hornbill Festival will reach out to more people through the Vlog Competition and also help see the Festival from a visitor's perspective and share their experiences.
