Attack on DAN creates rife in BJP

The Attack  on the DAN government by the BJP Nagaland unit over breakdown of law and order in the State and allegations of rampant indulgence in nepotism and corruption leveled against its alliance partner, appears to have created rife between the party president, Ato Yepthomi and state general secretary, Eduzu Th Vadeo.

While Ato has termed the press statement issued by Eduzu on October 2 as ‘unfortunate and irresponsible’, the latter said that the statement was made only on the directive of the president.

“I was directed to give press release regarding failure of law and order, corruptions, illegal taxes etc in the state by the BJP president, in the state office bearers meeting held at BJP office, Dimapur”, Eduzu stated in a statement issued today.

He also said that his president directed him to criticize the DAN government for the non-functioning of PWD department, but he deleted this point because he was not sure whether it was due to lack of fund or ignorance.

Eduzu claimed that seven office bearers were present during the meeting, when they arrived at a decision to attack the DAN government over the breakdown of law and order and indulgence in nepotism and corruptions by the Ministers. Hence, terming his statement as ‘most ignorant and irresponsible’ does not arise as it was the party decision and he did not issue any press statement on his individual capacity using the party designation, Eduzu refuted.
