Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): Civil organizations have denounced the attempted rape of two minors at Leshemi village by five persons from Khezhakeno village on January 1, 2011. The Zuketsa Area Public Organization and Zuketsa Students’ Union today issued a brief note condemning the crime and urged all right-thinking citizens “to come out and condemn such shameless act.”
Leshemi Village Council and Leshemi Youth Society also condemned the crime. “In their heinous attempt of rape, one of the girls was stripped of her clothes and physically molested. The arrival of the youths from Leshemi village saved her from further molestation,” a joint note from the two organizations stated.
”In this regard, the LVC and LYS strongly condemn such shameful act of the culprits and has urged the law enforcement body to give speedy justice while urging all right thinking and law abiding citizens to condemn such heinous crime in our society.”
