Kohima | May 23 : Close on the heels of the brutal rape and murder of a young girl in Dimapur, another attempt of rape case has been reported from Wokha District this morning. Speaking to the Morung Express, Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Rovilatuo Mor briefed that as per the preliminary report one 18 year old boy attempted to rape a girl of 11 years at Manandu bridge. The post-mortem report did not specify INSERT IGNOREion however; it was evident that the girl was physically molested on her private parts. Molonsu Youth apprehended the accused which invited hundreds of furious crowd at high school area and tried to parade the accused naked. However, police intervention brought the situation under control and the accused was later rescued by the police and put in their custody. It was also reported that the accused was beaten up before the police could reach for his rescue. It was reported that the incident took place this morning around 11 am. Deputy Commissioner while denouncing the act also said parading the accused naked will only tarnish the image of the district and added to let the law take its own course of action. Inquiry is on till the time of filing this story.
