August 9 assault: NBAK demands arrest of accused

KOHiMa, augusT 22 (MExN): The Naga Business Association Kohima (NBAK) today held a joint meeting with various frontal tribal hohos, student bodies, youth organisations and the ACAUT Nagaland in relation to the August 19 alleged assault on a Naga businessman by the Region Commander of the GPRN/NSCN and two others.  

A press note from the NBAK informed that the meeting demanded the immediate arrest of the accused “at the earliest and book them under NSA.” It further asked the GPRN/ NSCN to immediately terminate them from service, and issue an “unconditional apology” with assurance of safety to the victim and his family members.  

“If the demand of the joint meeting could not be fulfilled, the NBAK along with the frontal organisations, student bodies and youth organisations will resort to its own course of action,” it cautioned.  

The NBAK further reaffirmed in principal to support the ACAUT stand on ‘One Government One Tax.’ The joint meeting was attended by members of NBAK, ACAUT, KVYO, NAYO, WASU, Upper Agri Colony Council, All Kohima Municipal Ward Panchayat, Kohima Ao Telongjen, Chakhesang Hoho Kohima, Kohima Sumi Hoho, Kohima Lotha Hoho, Rengma Public Organisation Kohima and Eastern Naga Public Union Kohima
