Authorized state stockist and no discrepancy

NPF Units on PDS scam

Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): Two district units of the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) today endorsed the statement clarified by its parent body on the allegation of PDS rice scam and said that there were no discrepancies in the system and it is run by authorised operators.

In a press note receive here, the Dimapur NPF President I Nungsang Jamir and general secretary L Choba Lotha implied that the allegation hurled against the government and state stockist were baseless as it is run by “authorised operator under Food and Civil supplies.”

Further asserting that the present government implemented the National Food Security Act (NFSA), it said that people in the remote "area are at the receiving end due to the sealing of godowns, as it was meant for distributing to other districts."

It further appealed all concern to refrain from calling any more bandh as it creates more inconveniences to the people.

Meanwhile, the NPF Phek Unit said that the “hullabaloo” incident created by the raid by ACAUT and CCN and its subsequent events could have been easily averted if the concerned organisation or individuals had “pre-informed” the administration and police authorities before conducting the raid.

“It has been often seen that in their zeal and eagerness, they step overboard and take the law into their hands” stated a press note from its President Cievotso Nienu. “We should carry out our protest action in a legal and justifiable manner, it said”

The NPF Phek Division further claimed that it had physically clarified the matter with the concerned authority and has found no “discrepancy” in the PDS of the district.

In this regard, it urged the F&CS department to facilitate immediate supply and distribution of PDS food items to the public before the festive season.
