Award contracts to registered contractors: NCSU

Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Head Office Kohima has informed all the Head of Departments in Nagaland to strictly follow Government standing orders for awarding all types of contract and supply works only to registered members of the NCSU. The standing orders are – NO.AR-13/2/1985, NoGAB-1/CON/43/1986 and NO.BUD/8-7/95-96.

The Union in a press  note issued by its Vice President and Secretary stated that despite repeated memorandum to all the Departments time and again some departments are still practicing and violating Government Standing Orders by awarding contract and supply order to unregistered persons to both local and non-local.

“We NCSU found that some of the Government employees collaboration with bureaucrats and officers doing the supply and contract works by the fictitious names which violates the Government Order and service rules, we also found that some departments are doing contract works departmentally thereby depriving and causing misery to the genuine contractors,” it stated.

Therefore, the Union has directed its Action Committee on duty to detect matter relating to such issues and has warned the officer who is practicing “Table tender for the purpose of bride and percentage basis” and also the contractors for misusing their Redg Nos and pads by giving it to the non-registered members. “The NCSU shall take its own course of action to the erring department or concerned officers and contractors who are involved.”
