Award event, sport and cultural displays mark CCSU general session

Tuensang, February 5 (MExN): In the second day of the Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) 57th general session under the theme ‘Perspiration’ held at Loyem Memorial Ground, Tuensang witnessed volleyball and achievers’ night events. 


Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) President, Sepili L Sangtam who graced the occasion as the special guest was accompanied by his team along with CGOA members, APY TTBL, CKS members, KSU members etc.


During the achievers’ night event, 103 awards were conferred for the excellence in different fields along with awards for Distinguished Girl Child in the Field of Education conferred by Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaon (BBBP), Tuensang.

Awards for distinction holders and Best Performing Schools under Mission Wesen and Mission Zero% Free were also given. TVSU received the award of the Best Performing Federating Unit of CCSU.


There were performances from various well-known band and artist such as Naga Incarnate, Aohim Sem and Limba Chang. CCSU band comprising of present officials also performed. 


Short speeches were also given by vice president, Chang Gazetted Officers’ Association and Rev Fr Benjamin Chang on behalf of the awardees.


Prayers were spoken by Lashem APY, TTBL and Changsang Youth Pastor, DEF, Tuensang. Earlier in the morning session the opening and closing prayers were conducted by N. Chingmak, APY, TVBC and Bendangla, APY, CBL, Saksi.


Cultural event was held on day three under the theme ‘Ethos’ where Atokiho Sumi, President, ASSU graced the occasion as the cultural guest. He was accompanied by team and student leaders from Sumi community.


Chang DBs and Chang Songdak Setshang Thangjam towed the log drum from the clock tower till the venue the guest was brought seated on it.


In the event, different cultural activities were displayed such as top spinning by Hakchang Students’ Union, mouth organ by Chendang Students’ Union, Chang folk tale by CCSU cultural troupe, traditional fire making by Ngangpong Students’ Union and beating of the log drum by the Chang DBs and Chang Songdak Setshang Thangjam.


Later in the day, different cultural dances were performed such as Shangpele by Waoshu Students’ Union, Chongli by Nakshou Students’ Union, Sao Chia by Noksen Students’ Union, Monung Chia by Sangdak Students’ Union and Pangan Chia by TVSU.
