Kohima, June 23 (MExN): The Abebe Society, Mesulumi under Phek district has conducted an awareness camp on baseline survey and mobilization for formation of Self Help Groups at Chizami Cluster under AHVY scheme recently. The programme was supported by office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
During the awareness camp, welcome address was delivered by Lhiwetsolo, Chairman Abebe Society. Welcoming development commissioner (Handicrafts) Ministry of Textiles, GoI New Delhi and director NE office of the Development Commission (H) Ministry of Textiles, he called for development and upliftment of handicrafts artisan cluster.
Kh. Nipamacha Singh, LDC, MSEC, Kohima officer of the Development Commissioner (Handicraft), Ministry of Textiles, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He highlighted about the importance for formation of SHG, adding that such can improve his/her self reliance because everything comes through SHG.
Pronouncing vote of thanks, Secretary Abebe Society expressed happiness to the Assistant Director (MSEC) Kohima and staff for conducting for formation of SHG artisans and further assured to co-operate with the Marketing Service Extension Centre Kohima, office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. The Abebe Society also thanked office of the Development Commissioner (H) and Ministry of Textiles, GoI for supporting and sponsoring the Abebe Society.
