Kohima, February 9 (MExN): Awareness campaign on land use area and management was organised by the State Land Use Board (SLUB) Soil & Water Conservation Department at its Directorate’s Conference Hall.
The introductory speech was given by the Director, SN Singh who shared his experiences under State Land Use Board (SLUB). He emphasised on judicious use of land and water resources as the per capita availability of these resources is declining due to increasing population and limited natural resources. He also stressed on scientific land use planning and its management with specific consideration to maintain and improve the present land use system so as to achieve food security in the state.
A power point presentation on Land Resource Management for Self Sustainable and Climate Resilient Hill farming was made by Dr. Kiyasetuo Vizo, Joint Director. Senior officers also shared their experiences and also encouraged the upcoming officers on researching on the topic and disseminating the same to the farming community.
The programme was chaired by Kevingutso Rutsa, Joint Director while vote of thanks was delivered by Rongsenlemzung, Deputy Director.
