Kohima, July 20 (MExN): The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) organized a programme on Child Friendly Legal Services under NALSA Scheme 2015 at Government High School Rüsoma on July 20.
Apila Sangtam, Panel Lawyer KDLSA, while speaking on POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012) underlined the sexual offences which are recognized under POCSO Act and the procedure of reporting such cases when one becomes a victim. She added that the Act does not only emphasize on definitions and procedures but also has reliefs available to child victim of sexual offences, according to a press release.
Speaking on Cyber Crime, Nancy Lotha, Panel Lawyer KDLSA pointed out the types of cyber crime and offence related to cyber crime under Information Technology Act, how it is very common for children between the age group of 13-18 yrs to be victimized through cyber crimes. She also apprised that misuse of social networking will lead to cyber crimes and that one should be very careful when using the social networking sites.
Nulhuvolu Rakho, Panel Lawyer KDLSA delivered a gist of Legal Services Authority and Zakato Chishi, Panel Lawyer KDLSA spoke on Introduction to Child Friendly Legal Services (NALSA Scheme 2015).
Earlier in the welcome address, Asst. Headmistress of Govt. High School Rüsoma thanked the Panel Lawyers of KDLSA for organizing such programme, adding that the school was getting such legal awareness for the first time as the school is located out of the town and most of the time it is unreached.
