Attendees of a one-day awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights held at the Innovation and Incubation Centre, IDAN, Kohima on December 12.
Kohima, December 12 (MExN): The Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with the Nagaland Science and Technology Council (NASTEC) and Educentre School of Business (ESB), today hosted a one-day awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
Speaking at the event, held at the Innovation and Incubation Centre, IDAN, I Changsang, Under Secretary, Government of Nagaland, emphasized the importance of the IPFC and highlighted how the centre, in collaboration with NASTEC and ESB, aims to provide unparalleled services to the entrepreneurs of Nagaland. He urged the attendees to leverage the platform for the growth and protection of their businesses.
The resource persons included Kekuniel Ltu, Scientist ‘B’, NASTEC, who spoke on “Intellectual Property Rights and its Components”; Gihukali Chishi, Technical In-Charge, Patent Information Centre, NASTEC, who presented on “Patents, Trademarks, Designs, and Trade Secrets”; and Ketoulhoutuo-u Rame, IPR Legal Consultant, IPFC, who discussed “Infringement and Opposition.”
A press release from IDAN informed that the December 12 event was part of the IPFC’s ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators in Nagaland by offering the necessary support to commercialize their businesses. As a state promotion agency, IDAN continues to play a crucial role in promoting impactful projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, skill development, entrepreneurship, and community welfare.
The event was chaired by Nikhaholi Sumi of IPFC, while Fiona Haralu, Operations Manager of Educentre, and Rashna Thapa, Career Counsellor at Educentre, respectively gave the welcome address and vote of thanks. The programme was attended by entrepreneurs, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs, who were provided with vital information on the availability of registration services for all types of IPR, the release added.
