Awareness prog on ‘Child Rights and Protection’ held at Shoixe

Zunheboto, August 5 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) under the Department of Social Welfare Nagaland conducted an awareness programme on “Child Rights and Protection” at Shoixe Village Zunheboto on August 5.

A DIPR report stated that the resource person of the programme was J Khetoholi Yepthomi, Legal cum Probation Officer DCPU, Zunheboto. Yepthomi, spoke on Child Rights & Protection and POSCO Act. 

Ruzonuo Rita Rutsa, DCPO Zunheboto deliberated the participants on different services and protection mechanisms available for children in the district. Kito Ayemi, Protection Officer, Zunheboto highlighted on the roles and functions of village level child protection committee. 

The DCPO further appealed the VLCPC to identify children at risk so that they could avail the services available for the betterment of the children's future.
