Awareness prog on entrepreneurship held in Tsg, Mkg

Dimapur, November 3 (MExN): An awareness programme on entrepreneurship organized by STINER TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU-SASRD was held in Tuensang and Mokokchung on October 29 and 30 respectively.
Tuensang: In Tuensang, the programme was held at the CBLT Hall, Tuensang Town. Resource persons for the programme were O Akum, Advisor, SONEN, Eduo and HP Gupta, senior teacher and businessman, Tuensang.
Speaking on the topic, ‘Scope of Entrepreneurship,’ Akum highlighted the problems faced by the present youth because of unemployment problem in the state that leads to depression, addiction and thus creating a negative mindset that limits oneself from venturing into different opportunities.
Citing real life examples from the project SONEN started by the Eleutherous Christian Society, Tuensang, he shared success stories of youth generating avenues and sustainable livelihood through various projects like compost making, haircutting, pig rearing, sustainable agriculture, etc.
Akum further highlighted the wide scope of entrepreneurship and encouraged the youth to develop their skills and engage themselves in income generating activities.
Other resource person, Gupta while speaking on the topic ‘Do’s and Don’ts of Entrepreneurship’ spoke on the 4D model of Entrepreneurship: Deserve, Direction, Dedication and Determination. He stressed on the importance of an entrepreneur to develop healthy relationship with the society, environmental awareness, the concept of healthy competition among entrepreneurs, involvement of the community in entrepreneurship and further educated the gathering on accounts and product branding.
Both sessions were followed up by interaction, discussion and group activities. The programme was chaired by Dr Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant, STINER, TFC who also gave a presentation on STINER TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU-SASRD. The session wrapped up by Beso Chang, JSCO, Deparment of Soil and Water Conservation. A total number of 65 youth from different organizations and schools participated in the programme.

Mokokchung: The awareness programme was held at the Penli Community Hall, Mokokchung in collaboration with ATMA, Mokokchung. Resource persons for the programme were Bejamin Zhimomi, Centre Manager, EPVS, Pvt Ltd and Ashok Jagtiani, Proprietor, Design Lounge, Mokokchung.
Speaking on two sessions on the scope and role of entrepreneurs, Benjamin spoke on how to convert ideas into opportunities, the types of entrepreneurs and also shared business plan model - SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound).
Ashok Jagtiani shared about his personal journey and challenges he faced as an entrepreneur and educated the gathering on the importance of setting a goal towards achieving any goals, how to make market research, importance of maintaining healthy relationships with customers and the society and also shared tips on the right business strategies. All the sessions were followed up by interaction, discussion and group activities.
The programme was chaired by Dr Sentirenla Changkiri, Project Assistant, STINER-TFC who also gave a presentation on STINER-TFC, Nagaland Centre, NU-SASRD. Dr Lanu Nochetla, DDAO & PD, ATMA, Mokokchung gave the welcome address while the session was wrapped up by Rongsennungla Imchen, DPD, ATMA, Mokokchung.
Altogether 55 participants took part in the programme which included unemployed youth, housewives and students from Mayangnokcha Higher Secondary School pursuing course on entrepreneurship.
