Awareness programme on AYUSH held in Kohima

Kohima, August 4 (MExN): Members of the ATHARV Welfare Society (AWS) discussed about the health issues which are confronting the people during its awareness programme on AYUSH held at LCS building Kohima on August 3.


Temsuyanger, Medical Officer, AYUSH Community Health Centre Viswema was the guest speaker.


Speaking on the occasion, he observed that people nowadays, don't take their health and related issues seriously.

Stressing on the need to be aware of health issues and concerns, he said it was important that every individual takes responsibility to ensure that “we live a healthy life by adopting a healthy lifestyle and healthy habits.”


He also highlighted on the signs and symptoms of Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis (JE). Temsuyanger maintained that it is important to use mosquito repellents, nets, traps and also keep the surrounding clean and hygienic. He further appealed the ATHARV team to spread awareness as much as possible. Zonal programme Manager Nagaland, Imlikokba Ozukum said its primary objective was to focus in community health care projects, keeping in view the aims and objectives of the Ministry of Health, GoI.


Ozukum also informed that the society was established in 2010 to work towards creating a better world which provides basic health, education and empowerment to every citizen, and to venture with corporate to transform the lives of people by enabling them to hold the power to create opportunities for themselves and others.


He said that the Society has been constantly working in close cooperation with GoI to prevent against deadly infectious diseases and has been authorized by the Health Ministry to conduct programmes, create awareness and distribute preventive medicines for Malaria, Swine Flu, Dengue, Chikungunya and Japanese Encephalitis across all states.
