Awareness programme on EPF schemes held in Kohima

An awareness programme on Employees' Provident Fund schemes was held at Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, on September 8.

Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The EPFO Special State Office, Dimapur, in association with the Office of the Labour Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, organised an awareness programme on the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) schemes.

The event was held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Kohima on September 8.

The programme was attended and addressed by officials including Sotsula, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment; Avile, Commissioner, Labour & Employment; K Francis Hekavi, Joint Director, Industries & Commerce; and Col M A Farooqui, HQ DG AR (North).

Dr T John Jugli, Regional PF Commissioner from the EPFO Zonal Office for the North Eastern Region in Guwahati, was also present.

A presentation on the provisions of the EPF Act, 1952, and its associated schemes was delivered by Samuel Das, Regional PF Commissioner of the EPFO Special State Office in Dimapur. The presentation placed special emphasis on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY).

The meeting saw participation from representatives of various employers' organisations and employees' unions.

An interactive session was conducted at the end of the presentation where queries from stakeholders were addressed and clarified by Dr Jugli and Das.

Attendees expressed great satisfaction with the initiative, appreciating the effort to raise awareness and provide clarity on the schemes, stated a press release.
