Phek, October 11 (MExN): Project 72 Hrs, a community service led by Sievituo Solo and his team conducted an awareness rally on Measles Rubella campaign at Phek town on October 10. Speaking at the rally, Sievituo Solo encouraged the public not to be led astray by false prophecy and rumors.
He mentioned the clarification given by Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) on false rumors. He also cited the examples of schools at Kohima that fully participated on MR campaign and encouraged the parents, teachers and students to participate in MR Campaign which is meant to serve the community.
The team also visited Bishop Abraham Memorial School Phek with Dr Kolhitso Khalo, District Immunization Officer Phek and his team, Dr Baria RRT WHO and Henry, Supervisor for MR Campaign.
Dr Baria briefed the gathering on the importance of Measles and Rubella vaccination and its future benefits and highlighted its signs and symptoms stating that it was a contagious viral infection which can be prevented by vaccination.
