Axis Bank opens its sixth branch in Dimapur-Chümoukedima region

In view of the growing business potential of Chümoukedima and to provide better financial services for its customers, Axis Bank opened their sixth new branch in Dimapur-Chümoukedima region at NH-29, 4th Mile, Diphupar, on January 5. This will mark the 156th branch in the North East region and the 4836th branch across India. 

Kevithuto Sophie, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur who was the official invited to open the branch spoke on the need of the staff members to be courteous and professional in dealing with their customers in every situation. He also appreciated the efforts made by the bank in providing the much needed financial services for the people of Dimapur. 

Besides that, Sophie advised the bank to ramp up their cyber security against any type of malicious attacks or frauds that might occur in this digitized age.

Meanwhile, Poujaulung, Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Cluster Head of Axis Bank (Dimapur cluster) stated that the Diphupar branch was opened after seeing the business potential of the area and from receiving feedback from its staff members. The bank already has five branches located in City Tower, Lhomithi Signal Bosti, Kuda village, Purana Bazar and Chümoukedima. As such opening up a branch in Diphupar was the next logical step in catering to the growing demands of its customers located in the new district he mentioned. “We want to expand our business operations for churches, schools and colleges located here which we feel is an untapped potential,” Poujaulung added. 

The new branch will have a total of nine working employees. The AVP also noted that existing customers can shift their branch locations to Diphupar if they wish to do so. Moreover, the branch has the facility to provide credit card, financial loans, education loans or foreign transactions as well. 

The AVP revealed that currently Axis bank has 13 branches scattered across Nagaland including the Eastern region. 

“The banking sector still has got a huge potential in the state as it not only about depositing and withdrawing of money,” he said. The bank also contributes by providing loans to customers, insurance, employment opportunities to the working youths and undertaking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He thus encouraged the citizens to come and avail the opportunities at the bank. 

At the opening of the branch, invocation was done by Talimoa, Pastor of Diphupar Ao Baptist Church
